Is there a lisp that can do this? Custom linetypes perhaps? Please point me in the right direction. The outline drawings it creates are closed polylines marking the boundaries of various types of objects, which can include elementary entities (lines and arcs) as well as complex blocks and curves.
TotalBoundary (Pro) is a professional plugin for generating 2D outline drawings of various degrees of complexity with AutoCAD®. It would be of great help if I could select the main roads and convert the polylines into wide spaced double parallel polylines, then do the same for narrower roads using narrower spaced parallel polylines. TotalBoundary creates outlines of complex drawings in AutoCAD. Basically the whole drawing is roads only (no buildings or other objects), so all polylines in a a layer should be converted to something resembling a road. If the polyline you select is a closed polyline, Open replaces the Close option in the prompt. You can select a single arc or line segment, also called a subobject, within a polyline by pressing the Ctrl key when you click over it (not available in AutoCAD LT). (ssget) is a powerful function that can do more than you probably realize. Selecting a 2D polyline provides specialized PEDIT options. Select the required file and click the 'Load' button and click the 'Close' button. Next to ‘Look in’, click to browse to the directory where you have saved the lisp file. The Load/Unload Applications dialog box will be displayed. However, this is extremely time consuming and I was wondering if there is a quicker way of doing this. If you have written routines with Autolisp, then you have probably used the (ssget) function to select entities on the screen, either automatically or by prompting the user. Start your CAD program and at the command prompt or on the screen, type 'appload'. ATM I'm using offsets to accomplish this.
The project needs objects placed on the left and right side of the road, so I need to make those polylines look like roads (instead of a line I need double lines with a specific and preferably customizable distance between them - main roads are wider, alleys and pathways are narrower).
I have the 2D map of a city as seen from above, and roads are simple polylines. Enter fuzz distance or Jointype <0.
